The
Knights of the Raven have a mysterious background, with only a scant
few details known about them within the ranks of the Haelynite Church
hierarchy. At the year of Haelyn 1569 HC, the former knight of Haelyn Sir
Oeran Morell, Commander of the Knights of the Rose, dedicated in the
purging of the Northern lands of Boeruine from all non- human and all
not at the line of the Northern Imperial Temple protested against the
decision of Church of Haelyn Senate to unify the faith and its
doctrines. On Mierlen of Sehnir 1570 HC. The Thane of the Northen
Imperial Temple ordered Morell and scores of other Talinien Knight
Templars to be simultaneously arrested. The arrest warrant started with
the phrase : "God is not pleased. We have enemies of the faith that
threaten the unity of the kingdom" The Order
of the Rose was charged with numerous offences (including apostasy,
heresy, obscene rituals, financial corruption). Many of the accused
confessed to these charges under torture. With its leaders gone and the
treasuries of the order confiscated, it was not long before the
remnants of the Knights that survived the persecution faded into
darkness.
After five years of silence and conversion of the
separated faiths of Haelyn into the new unified dogma of the One God, a
warrior appeared in the lands of Northern Boeruine spreading the word of
the Raven. The young man freely spoke of a “darkness” that has
befallen upon the lands of Anuire and at that time it was mainly
associated with the bleak events of the civil wars and death that raged
the region. Not much are known for this mysterious “religious” order ,
but the church of Haelyn outlawed any doctrine that does not attach to
the new dogma of the faith. The order of the Raven has not spread much
over the lands of the Northern but still there are some followers of it
who are closely hiding from the inquisitions of the Church of the One
God, Healyn.
